Light breaks where no sun shines;
Where no sea runs, the waters of the heart

A Public Art Project hopefulness

In 2020, when the world was battling Covid19, we partnered with the City of Kansas City, MO to bring light, colors, and hope to urban life. This costume-designed piece inspired by Persian tiles was decorating windows of the streetcar shelter at the Kaufman Center in downtown, KC.

We chose simple window films for our main material because window film as a medium does not require a lengthy installation and does not damage public property. The cut-out films on the windows are filtering the natural daylight to create color casted shadows on various surfaces as the day moves along.

We chose the title of this public art piece inspired by a poem by Dylan Thomase.
