Raining Plarn: A pop-up event/installation on upcycling

This pop-up temporary installation/event at the Spencer Museum of Art in Lawrence, KS was designed to entice families to visit and explore the museum's diverse resources at an annual event.

By Using painted plastic shops in our installation, we hoped to promote the idea that Art can be made responsibly and does not have to be expensive or too complicated.

Our tassel-making event that accompanied this piece was designed to emphasize the message of responsible artmaking and for families of all backgrounds to experience the joy of making something together as a takeaway. We provided recycled cotton mop yarns to the public to emphasize once again that taking everyday objects and making them special could be a form of art.
